Colin Krigbaum Memorial Ramp Park.

The concept of an indoor skate park is strongly supported by skaters and bmx bikers across Hannibal, MO and the surrounding areas that are very limited to where they skate when the weather is bad and the days are shorter. At present there are no indoor ramp parks. There is one outdoor facility but it can only be used when the weather is nice and many kids still skate and bike in many areas that are off limits. Much of Hannibal is now under ordinance where kids are not allowed to skate or ride their bmx bikes in town on sidewalks and roads. Due to the nature of building and running an indoor facility, it is felt a private commercial venture would be the most feasible way of achieving this. Several companies and individuals have contacted us with the interest of developing an indoor skate park. The benefits to the city from an indoor skate park include:

• Skaters have somewhere to go during the winter season.
• This would keep a majority of young kids active and off the streets.
• The area is supervised. Parents / carers of younger skaters know their children will be looked after.
• Indoor skate parks have spectator areas making them ‘family friendly’.
• Coolbyke would be supporting a contemporary and relevant facility for young people.
